APC To Begin Presidential Campaign In Kaduna On October 24, Says Yari

Channels TV about 1 hour 2 mins read

The All Progressives Congress (APC) will begin its presidential campaign in Kaduna on October 24th, 2026.

This is according to the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, AbdulAziz Yari, who spoke on Friday while briefing State House correspondents in Abuja following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.

The former governor of Zamfara State said that Tinubu had approved the proposed campaign schedule of the ruling APC, including state visits ahead of next year’s general elections.

“The inaugural meeting is going to be done on the 14th of this month; that’s next Wednesday, at the State House Banquet Hall, and by God’s grace, on the 24th of October, we’re going to do our flag-off campaign in Kaduna,” Yari said.

“We have outlined our state visits to each and every place where we will go, and the president has approved them. So, we are going to hit the ground running by the 24th of October,” the APC chieftain told journalists on Friday.

President Bola Tinubu receives in audience with the Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Senator Abdul Aziz Yari, and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday.

He listed Maiduguri, in Borno State, and Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as some of the next destinations on the APC campaign schedule.

The former Zamfara governor said the detailed schedule for the APC presidential campaign will be published after the inauguration of the party’s campaign council.

Yari also spoke about President Tinubu’s chances of re-election when Nigerians head to the polls in January 2027. He dismissed the chances of other candidates, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC)’s Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, winning the presidential election requires support in the northern and southern regions of the country instead of just one region.

He said, “Even if you have control of 80 per cent of the south, if you don’t have anything in the north, you cannot make it. If you have 80 per cent of control of the north, if you don’t have any state in the south, you cannot make it, and that’s what it is.”
