APC Unveils Candidates For Gombe LG Elections

 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has presented party flags to 24 chairmanship candidates ahead of the local government elections in Gombe State.

The APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, flanked by the host governor, Inuwa Yahaya, presented the party emblems to the candidates at Pantami Stadium, venue of the party’s grand rally.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya told party supporters that he was confident in the APC’s chances at the forthcoming local elections, describing Gombe State as a stronghold of the ruling party.

 

 

 

The event also marked the grand rally for the 2026 local government elections across the state’s 11 local government areas and 13 local council development areas.

It attracted party supporters from the state’s 114 wards and 2,988 polling units.

The APC National Secretary, Senator Basiru Ajibola, while urging the National Working Committee to pass a vote of confidence on Governor Yahaya for what he described as life-changing projects in Gombe State, expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu would emerge victorious in the 2027 elections.

Describing Gombe as a stronghold of the APC and a state aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, Yahaya promised an overwhelming victory for the party at all levels in the 2027 elections.

While highlighting various human development projects undertaken by the Tinubu administration across the country, as well as efforts to rebuild the North-East region, the Yilwatda said the party’s recent landslide victory in Ekiti State had set the tone for future electoral successes ahead of 2027.

The party’s 240 councillorship candidates also received APC flags.

The event was also attended by members of the party’s National Working Committee, national and state assembly members, and other party faithful.
