Army arrests suspected terror logistics operatives in Yobe

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Troops of Sector 2 Operation HADIN KAI have arrested two suspected logistics operatives linked to terrorists operating in the North-East during an operation in Damaturu, Yobe State.

In a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, security sources disclosed that the suspects were apprehended at about 12:05 p.m. on May 11, 2026, following intelligence gathered through communication intercepts connected to the earlier arrest of a repentant member of the Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP.

Sources told Makama that the suspects were arrested in Damaturu town, the headquarters of Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State.

According to sources, initial findings showed that one of the suspects was allegedly assigned to collect ammunition from the second suspect for onward delivery to a terrorist commander operating within the region.

Military sources further revealed that the suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.

Efforts are also ongoing to trace and arrest the alleged terrorist commander linked to the operation and recover the ammunition meant for delivery.

“The suspects are currently in custody while efforts are ongoing to track down the alleged terrorist commander and recover the ammunition intended for delivery,” Makama said.
