Arteta signs contract extension at Arsenal until 2030

Arsenal have extended manager Mikel Arteta’s contract until June 2030, following the club’s successful 2025-26 campaign.

The Premier League club announced the new agreement, saying it reflected a shared ambition to build on the progress made under Arteta and enter what it described as a special period in the club’s history.

Arteta was appointed Arsenal head coach in December 2019 and has overseen 361 matches in all competitions. The club said his 62.05 per cent win rate is the highest recorded by any full-time manager in Arsenal’s history.

Arsenal said Arteta became the club’s seventh title-winning manager last season after leading the team to its 14th league title, fourth Premier League crown and first league championship in 22 years.

The club’s co-chairs, Stan and Josh Kroenke, said they were pleased to continue their relationship with Arteta, describing the previous season as a significant moment in Arsenal’s history.

“We share a special bond with Mikel. We are so proud of everything we have achieved since he returned to the club in 2019,” the Kroenkes said.

They added that Arteta had a strong understanding of Arsenal’s values and was committed to building on the club’s achievements.

Arsenal CEO Richard Garlick said the extension represented an important step as the club sought to establish a sustained period of success.

“Mikel has the belief, determination and the understanding of what it takes to build something remarkable and enduring here, and we are excited to continue that journey together,” Garlick said.

Arteta expressed his delight at committing his future to the club, saying he was proud to continue working with the club’s leadership, staff and supporters.

“It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal,” Arteta said.

He added that the club had developed a special relationship with its supporters and expressed confidence about what could be achieved in the coming years.

“This is such a proud moment for me and my family. I feel the love and respect from our fantastic supporters, and they have mine – and ours – in return,” he said.

Arsenal also confirmed that members of Arteta’s coaching staff had agreed to renew their contracts, with their deals aligned with the duration of the manager’s new agreement.

The club said the contract extension remains subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
