The National Assembly is scheduled to resume its third and fourth ordinary sessions on Monday, 7 September.
During this period, lawmakers will consider and deliberate on government businesses, question ministers and the vice president on various issues, review and consider reports of various committees and parliamentary delegations as well consider motions and bills.
Among the bills to be dealt with are the Former Presidents Amendment Bill 2026, Criminal Procedure Amendment Bill 2026, Competition and Consumer Protection Bill 2026, Cyber Crime Bill and Gambia Immigration Bill.
The Assembly will also consider the draft estimates of Revenue and Expenditure of the Government of The Gambia for the 2027 fiscal year.
On Tuesday 15 September, the vice president will also provide a response to the special committee report on assets of former president Jammeh.
During the session, lawmakers will also consider ratifying the visa exemption agreement between Gambia and Gabon for holders of diplomatic and service passports.
The finance minister is also expected to provide a reply to the report of the Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) on the scrutiny of the auditor general’s reports on the Government Accounts for the financial years: 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 as well as reply to the report of the Public Enterprises committee (PEC) consolidated Report on Nawec projects; GERMP, ECOREAP and GEAP; SSHFC Special Audit; and GPA follow-up performance audit report on cargo handling.
