Ballon d’Or 2026: French’s Walid Acherchour names player to receive huge votes

French pundit, Walid Acherchour, has tipped Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal to receive a huge number of Ballon d’Or votes.

Acherchour believes the Spain international could win the Ballon d’Or because of what he has shown regarding his performances for club and country.

Yamal won the World Cup with Spain and also won the LaLiga title with Barcelona.

The 19-year-old is a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or and is expected to challenge England’s Harry Kane, France’s Kylian Mbappe and others for the prize.

“Lamine Yamal could receive a huge number of Ballon d’Or votes,” Acherchour said as quoted by Footballtweet on X via (After Foot RMC).

“The consistency Lamine Yamal has shown, combined with winning La Liga, putting up even better numbers than last season, and then going on to win the World Cup… I think…
