Ballon d’Or 2026: Rodri names six players who deserve to win award

Barcelona midfielder Rodri has named six players who deserved to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

The winner of the Ballon d’Or will be announced next month in London, and Rodri is among the 30 players nominated for the award.

Rodri won the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Spain and was also named the best player of the tournament.

“What I would really like is for a Spaniard to win it,” Rodri said as per Goal.

“There are six of us [nominated]: Cucurella, Cubarsi, Rodri, Ruiz, Lamine, and Ferran.

“I can tell you that, individually, every one of them absolutely deserves the Ballon d’Or. I think all my teammates have solid arguments.”
