Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

France international, Kylian Mbappe is now leading the race for the 2026 Ballon d’Or award.

According to Polymarket as shared by football transfer expert, Fabricio Romano, the Frenchman is now leading England international, Harry Kane by 3%.

This is following the Real Madrid attacker’s contribution to France victory over Morocco in the quarter final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Thursday.

After missing a penalty in the early minutes of the first half, Mbappe came into second half putting France ahead in the 60th minute and went on to assist Ousmane Dembele for the 2022 finalists’ second goal.

Mbappé has now surpassed England captain Harry Kane for first place in the Ballon d’Or rankings.

The former Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain forward now stands at 28%, while Kane is in second position at 25%.

Occupying the third and fourth places are Mbappé’s national teammate, Dembele at 15% and Argentina captain, Lionel Messi in fourth place at 13%.
