The 33-year-old finished ahead of Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, who placed second and third respectively.

Reflecting on the achievement, Kane said: “I am almost speechless! Being here in London has made it special, so it felt like a good omen.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for me. Congratulations to all the winners.”

Kane also extended his gratitude to his Bayern Munich and England teammates, England manager Thomas Tuchel, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany, former club Tottenham Hotspur, and others who have played a key role in his career.

Kane’s award follows a remarkable season in which he scored 73 goals and registered 8 assists in all competitions for club and country.
