Ballon d’Or 2026: Williams names player who deserves to win award

Athletic Bilbao star, Nico Williams, has named Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal as the player who deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

According to Williams, people switch on the television just to watch Yamal play.

Williams and Yamal are close friends and also international teammates with Spain national team.

Speaking with El Desmarque about the player who should win the Ballon d’Or, Williams said, “I think Lamine Yamal deserves it.

“For me, he should be the best player – the one you switch on the telly for because you want to see him.”

Yamal won the World Cup with Spain in the summer and also the LaLiga title with Barcelona last season.
