Bandits kill Kano APC leader

Bandits have reportedly killed two residents, including the All Progressives Congress, APC, ward leader in Rantan community, Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State.

The attack occurred on Sunday night when the gunmen stormed the community and opened fire on residents.

Journalist Bakatsine, who reports on conflict and insecurity in Nigeria’s North-West, disclosed the attack in a post on X on Monday.

According to the report, one of the victims was identified as Alhaji Garba Buba, the APC ward leader in Rantan, who was reportedly shot during the attack.

Another resident, identified as Sulaiman Zunduma, was also reportedly killed at the scene.

The incident occurred hours after the reported rescue of the Sarkin Noman Jihar Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa, who was abducted in Chiromawa, Garun Malam Local Government Area of the state.

As of the time of filing this report, the Kano State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
