Bashir Ahmad denies lamenting over Tinubu’s govt in alleged private chat with El-Rufai’s son

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bashir Ahmad, has denied having a private conversation with the lawmaker representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, concerning President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

DAILY POST reports that Bello, in an alleged Facebook post, claimed that Ahmad, a former presidential spokesperson, privately complained to him about the government he is currently campaigning for.

Reacting in a post on his official X handle on Thursday, Ahmad denied the claim, stating that he could not recall ever discussing Tinubu’s administration, the elections or anything related to the matter with Bello.

The APC chieftain said he was surprised to see the lawmaker’s Facebook post, particularly because it had attracted thousands of comments.

According to him, many users are now insulting him and calling him different names over a conversation he insisted never took place.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I did not complain to Bello about anything concerning the President or his administration. I am an APC member, a supporter of President Tinubu and a campaigner for his re-election,” he stated.

Ahmad further dismissed any suggestion that he would engage in activities against his party, insisting that he remained committed to the APC and Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“I do not believe in anti-party activities. As long as I remain a member of the APC and continue to support the President, I will stand by my political commitment,” he added.
