Bauchi police arrest suspect three months after brutal murder of 46-year-old man

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested Abdulrazak Sale Kundang, the principal suspect in the alleged murder of 46-year-old Rilwanu Dauda in Karofin Madaki.

The development was contained in a statement signed by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, on Tuesday.

According to the statement, Dauda was attacked and allegedly stabbed with a knife by Sale and other members of his gang on July 5, 2026, at about 9:30 am

The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor at about 11 am the same day.

The police said Sale was arrested on October 5, exactly three months after the incident, following information provided by a Good Samaritan.

The Command added that the suspects had previously been linked to a politically motivated murder in the same area before disappearing.

Efforts are ongoing to arrest the other suspects still at large.

Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu commended the operatives involved in the arrest and directed that the case be thoroughly investigated before the suspect is charged to court.

“No criminal will have a hiding place in Bauchi State,” the Commissioner warned.
