The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged murder of a woman identified as Khadija, also known as Nana, in Toro Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, identified as Aliyu Musa, 25; Samsu Musa, 25; and Auwalu Kabiru, 22, were arrested on November 2, 2026 over alleged criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, the incident was reported on 31 October by the Officer-in-Charge of Zalau Police Out-Station under Toro Division.

The police said the suspects allegedly attacked the victim, who hailed from Unguwan Gangare, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, with a cutlass, inflicting serious injuries to her head.

The statement said police operatives immediately mobilised to the scene and rushed the victim to General Hospital, Toro, for emergency medical treatment.

However, she was later confirmed dead by a doctor on duty.

"Her corpse has been deposited at the hospital's mortuary for preservation and autopsy," the statement said.

The command added that efforts were ongoing to trace and contact the deceased's family, while the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Bauchi, for further investigation and prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the killing and assured the public that those responsible would face justice.

The police commissioner also urged residents to provide timely and credible information to the nearest police formation, reaffirming the command's commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
