Kabiru Musa, sentenced the defendant to 15 years’ imprisonment with an option of a N500,000 fine for the offence of incest.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>For the offence of criminal intimidation, the court sentenced Sylvester to 10 years’ imprisonment with an option of a N250,000 fine, whilst for the offence of assault, the court sentenced the defendant to five years’ imprisonment without the option of a fine.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The court, explaining that the sentences shall run consecutively, further pronounced that the defendant has the constitutional right of appeal against the judgment to the High Court of Adamawa State within the next 30 days.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The judge said the most disturbing part of the case was the testimony of the victim that the defendant habitually intimidated and forced her into sexual intercourse whenever he desired.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“Having carefully considered the statement of complaint, the unequivocal plea of guilty entered by the defendant, the oral testimony of the victim in corroboration thereof, and the entire record before the court, I am satisfied that the prosecution has proved the offences charged beyond reasonable doubt as required by law,” the judge said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“A plea of guilty, once voluntarily made and corroborated where necessary, constitutes the strongest evidence against an accused person. When the driver arrived at the Bauchi motor park near Awala Hotel, he contacted her to collect the package.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Her brother reportedly took her to the park on a motorcycle. After collecting the items, they were heading home when the crash occurred.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>According to the source, as they approached the Police Officers’ Mess and were about to turn into the New GRA area, the Sharon bus hit the motorcycle and sped off.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Rebecca was thrown onto the road and suffered severe head injuries, including a fractured skull. Command has arrested a suspect and recovered N5 million allegedly stolen from a motorist shortly after he withdrew the money from a commercial bank in Bauchi.\u003Cbr \u002F>\nThe command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying the arrest followed a swift operation by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>According to the police, the incident occurred on Monday when a 50-year-old man withdrew N5 million from Fidelity Bank along Ahmadu Bello Way, Bauchi, before driving to HD Plaza for shopping.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The statement said the victim parked and locked his vehicle before entering the plaza, but returned to discover that suspected thieves had allegedly used a fabricated key to force open the car.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The suspects were said to have damaged the vehicle’s door, shattered one of its side windows and carted away the N5 million before concealing the cash in a Peugeot 406.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Police said the victim immediately raised the alarm and pursued the fleeing suspects while calling for help, forcing them to abandon both the vehicle and the stolen cash before escaping.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The statement added that detectives subsequently arrested one of the suspects, identified as Abubakar Mustapha from Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State, behind Isa Yuguda House in Bauchi.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Items recovered during the operation included the stolen N5 million, the abandoned Peugeot 406 and a fabricated key allegedly used to gain access to the victim’s vehicle.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, directed detectives to conduct a thorough investigation to apprehend other fleeing members of the syndicate and ensure they are brought to justice.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>According to the police, the recovered money has been handed back to the owner.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The command commended the victim and a Good Samaritan whose prompt actions contributed to the recovery of the money and the arrest of the region.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>According to the report, the attack occurred in the early hours of July 15 when suspected kidnappers stormed the district head’s residence located in the Hubbare area of Birnin Kebbi.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Makama reported that the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in Birnin Kebbi received a distress call at about 1:13am, from Alhaji Uwaisu Saad of Ubandoman Kebbi, alerting security operatives to the incident.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The report stated that the DPO mobilised a joint security team comprising police operatives, personnel of the 36 Police Mobile Force, officers of the Operations Department, members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, and local vigilantes to the scene.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“According to the sources, the suspected kidnappers fled into a nearby bush on sighting the advancing security operatives, abandoning their mission,” the report stated.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Makama added that the security team rescued the district head and members of his family without any of them being abducted.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The report, however, stated that three labourers working at the Fish farming like Salmond, Tuner, lobsters, and the Delta is endowed with those resources.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“In this great nation of ours, we have no business being poor, we have the potential to be one of the richest countries in the world.
