Troops of the Nigerian Army have dismantled terrorist hideouts in Ari Koriri village, Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State, during an intelligence-driven operation targeting insurgents operating in the area.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post on X on Friday, citing security sources who said the operation was carried out at about 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
According to the report, troops of the 145 Battalion (Motorised), 5 Brigade, under Sector 3, launched the clearance operation after receiving intelligence that insurgents were using the village as a hideout.
The soldiers reportedly advanced into the area and encountered groups of insurgents, who fled following the troops' approach.
Makama said the troops subsequently combed the area and destroyed identified terrorist camps, although the number of insurgents killed or injured during the operation was yet to be established.
The troops later concluded the operation and returned to their base at approximately 4:40 p.m.
The operation, he noted, is part of ongoing military efforts to eliminate insurgent hideouts, prevent terrorists from establishing safe havens and limit their movements within the Lake Chad operational theatre.
