BREAKING: Dangote: Nigerian filling stations increase fuel price

Nigerian filling stations increased their Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, pump prices on Thursday.

A market survey by DAILY POST showed that AA Rano, Ranoil and other filling stations raised their fuel price to N1,220 per litre, up from between N1,170 and N1,180 per litre in Abuja and its environs.

This means the filling stations adjusted their petrol prices by between N40 and N50 per litre.

However, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and other filling stations’ retail prices remained unchanged at between N1,155 and N1,205 per litre as of the time of filing this report.

The retail price increase across some filling stations comes as the ex-depot fuel price rose sharply to between N1,125 and N1,175 per litre, up from around N1,090 per litre.

Recall that Dangote Refinery resumed refined petroleum product sales in dollars instead of naira, pegging the petrol price at $0.799 per litre, which is approximately N1,075 per litre.

Earlier, Dangote Refinery described as false claims that it had suspended gantry petrol sales to off-takers.

DAILY POST reports that Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude blends dropped slightly by at least one per cent to $84 and $78 per barrel, respectively, on Thursday evening.
