Frank Onyeka will be assessed ahead of Coventry City’s Carabao Cup third round clash with Aston Villa on Wednesday.

The Nigeria international was forced off with an injury in Coventry’s 5-0 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

The defensive midfielder was replaced by Ghana international Caleb Yirenkyi 18 minutes from time.

Onyeka’s international teammate Taiwo Awoniyi will miss the game due to suspension

Awoniyi was sent off in the 53rd minute of Coventry’s loss to Brighton.

The hosts will also be without Josh Eccles, Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Luke Woolfenden, and Haji Wright for the game.

Lampard’s side have recorded just one win in five games across all competitions this season.
