The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has issued fresh guidelines on the appropriate attire for applicants shortlisted for the oral interview in its ongoing 2024/2025 recruitment exercise.
The clarification was contained in a statement released on Thursday by the Board’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Okeh Juliet.
According to the Board, the oral interview, which represents the final phase of the recruitment exercise, is scheduled to begin on September 7, 2026.
The Board said the clarification became necessary after receiving several enquiries from shortlisted candidates seeking to know what they were expected to wear to the interview.
“This clarification supersedes the earlier one and becomes necessary following enquiries from candidates on acceptable attire.
“The approved dress code is as follows: white T-shirt with short or long sleeves (the long-sleeved shirt is optional for ladies); white shorts or white long trousers (the long trousers are optional for ladies),” the statement read.
The Board further stated that candidates must wear white sneakers and white socks. Female applicants are also permitted to wear headscarves, although this is not compulsory.
“All candidates are advised to strictly adhere to the dress code stated above. Candidates who fail to comply will not be granted access to the interview venue,” the statement said.
The Board wished all shortlisted applicants success as they proceed to the final stage of the recruitment process.
The exercise is for recruitment into four federal security agencies: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Immigration Service.
Earlier, the Board announced that applicants in the graduate category were expected to confirm their shortlisting status through the official recruitment portal between August 31 and September 2, 2026.
Applicants who applied with NCE, OND or SSCE qualifications are scheduled to check their status from September 7 to 9.
Candidates who make the shortlist are expected to choose an interview venue closest to them and select a convenient date and time before printing their invitation letters.
The Board also reiterated that the recruitment exercise is completely free, warning applicants not to give money to anyone in exchange for employment.
