Gambian champions Medina United will find out their preliminary round opponents when the draw, involving 61 strong African clubs takes place at the Caf headquarters in Cairo today.
Medina has vowed to go to Africa in its very maiden year as champions as part of its ambition to take Gambian football to higher heights.
The draw in Cairo today will pair the Gambian club with a so far unknown team to play home and away matches for the rights to progress to the first round, and possibly, the lucrative group stages.
Hopes of a home match in Banjul
Meanwhile with the Independence Stadium expected to be approved to host international matches in September, Medina United is hoping to host their home leg in Banjul when the preliminaries start at about the same time.
