Chukwue, Adams Make Serie A Top 10 African Rankings

This Day about 2 hours 2 mins read

Super Eagles stars, Samuel Chukwueze and Akor Adams have climbed into the top 10 ranking of the most valuable African players in the Italian Serie A.

The duo are among six Nigeria internationals who feature among the 50 most valuable Africans in the division.

According to Transfermarkt’s Serie A market-value ranking filtered for African players, Chukwueze is sixth at €20 million, putting the AC Milan winger behind Senegal’s Assane Diao, Ivory Coast’s Ange-Yoan Bonny and Evan Ndicka, Senegal midfielder Pape Matar Sarr and Ivory Coast’s Christ Inao Oulaï.

The 27-year-old’s valuation comes after an eventful summer at Milan, where he scored against Manchester United and supplied two assists in a 4-2 pre-season victory in Wrocław. The winger, one of Super Eagles’ most valuable, also started Nigeria’s 2-1 win over Madagascar in September before staying on the bench during the subsequent 3-0 defeat by Guinea-Bissau.

Adams occupies joint-ninth place at €15m, level with Ivory Coast’s Odilon Kossounou and Cameroon’s Frank Anguissa. The 26-year-old striker joined Venezia permanently from Sevilla in July on a contract running until June 2030, giving him a fresh Serie A platform after scoring 10 goals in 37 appearances for the Spanish club.

Maduka Okoye is next, ranking joint-16th at €10m, with the Udinese goalkeeper the number one shot-stopper on the list. The only other African goalkeeper on the chart is Senegal and AC Monza star Demba Thiam at 42nd.

At 21, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is Nigeria’s youngest representative and ranks 23rd at €7m. The Monza midfielder is contracted to Inter and spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Pisa.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, valued at €6m, is joint-24th. The Lazio midfielder joined the Rome club in July 2025 and has earned 19 Nigeria caps.

Kevin Akpoguma completes the Nigerian six in joint-46th at €1.5m. The 31-year-old centre-back is now with Frosinone and has been part of their 2026/27 Serie A squad. Together, the six Nigerians carry a combined market value of €59.5m.
