CLOVIS Rebrands, Launches Renaissance Collection

This Day about 2 hours 2 mins read

Nigerian fashion brand, CLOVIS, formerly known as ClovisCasuals has relaunched after a five-year hiatus, unveiling its new identity and debut capsule collection, tagged ‘The Renaissance Collection’.

The relaunch marks the brand’s transition to a new identity, with a design approach it describes as “Tradurban”, combining West African cultural influences with contemporary fashion.

The collection features three product lines: Lagos Loom, Afroform and City Graphics.
Lagos Loom incorporates indigenous West African textiles into contemporary clothing, with pieces including the Denim Fringe Jacket, Ochre Set and Aso-Oke patchwork designs.

Afroform combines geometric patterns with relaxed silhouettes, featuring the Afroform Tee and Afroform Cargo Pant, while City Graphics comprises heritage-inspired designs, including the Lasgidi Express Tee, Lagos Horizon Tee and Renaissance Monogram Tee.
The brand said its new name, CLOVIS, was derived from the Latinised form of the French name Louis, in reference to its founder, Louis Akorede Awode, and Clovis I, the first king of France.

It said the new identity reflects its ambition to establish a stronger presence in the international fashion market.
CLOVIS had previously built a presence in Nigeria’s entertainment and creative industries, styling artistes and personalities including Asake, Olamide, Laycon, Yhemolee and Abayomi Alvin.

The brand’s signature statement, “Made For You”, remains part of its identity.
