Coalition 2026 is set to sign a political alliance among eight political parties and movements ahead the December 5 presidential election.
The agreement will be signed at Pencha Mi Hall, according to a statement issued by the coalition.
The alliance brings together the People’s Right Party (PRP), FORWARD Gambia, National Reform Congress (NRC), PASTEF Gambia, Gambia Movement for Progress, Defending the Gambian Interest, UNITE Party and Save The Gambia.
A statement from the group said the agreement will unite the parties and movements behind a shared platform aimed at shaping the country’s future ahead of the presidential election.
Coalition 2026 has already elected a flagbearer, Talib Ahmed Bensouda, who will head the alliance into the December polls.
According to the coalition, the partnership is built around good governance, national unity, economic revival, accountable leadership and greater opportunities for Gambians.
The signing ceremony is expected to bring together leaders of the participating parties and movements, senior officials, supporters, guests and members of the public.
The coalition described the signing as a major step toward building what it called a strong and cooperative political front ahead of the election.
The alliance comes as political parties and movements continue to position themselves ahead of the 2026 presidential contest.
Coalition 2026 said its partnership seeks to provide a shared political platform and promote cooperation among its members as they prepare for the election.
The coalition has invited members of the media and the public to attend the ceremony and witness the formal signing of the agreement.
