Court adjourns El-Rufai’s case, sets new date

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has left the Federal High Court in Kaduna after the court adjourned the continuation of hearing in his case to December 8, 2026.

The adjournment followed the assignment of a new prosecuting lawyer to the case, who requested time to study the matter ahead of the next sitting.

Recall that El-Rufai had earlier arrived at the court for proceedings in a separate case involving the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.

The case is before Justice Hauwa Buhari.

The former governor’s latest court appearance comes amid ongoing legal proceedings involving him and the anti-corruption agency over allegations of financial misconduct during his tenure as governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023.

The ICPC has been investigating allegations relating to his administration.

El-Rufai has denied wrongdoing in connection with the allegations.
