Properties linked to Alhaji Abdulrahman Musa Bashar, Chairman of the Rahamaniyya Group of Companies, have been sealed in Lagos and Abuja following enforcement proceedings over an alleged $40 million debt.
The enforcement action commenced on Wednesday after Petrichor Energy FZCO obtained court orders to recover the disputed sum.
According to court documents, the Federal High Court in Lagos, on February 25, 2026, granted Petrichor Energy FZCO leave to register and enforce a judgment of the High Court of Justice of England and Wales in Nigeria.
The court subsequently issued writs of attachment and sale on May 15, 2026, authorising enforcement against assets belonging to Bashar and, under a separate writ, Bashar and Ultimate Oil & Gas FZCO.
Court enforcement officials have reportedly served and posted enforcement documents at properties linked to the respondents in Lagos and Abuja.
The dispute stems from petroleum product transactions between Petrichor Energy, formerly known as CE Energy DMCC, and Ultimate Oil & Gas.
According to case materials, Petrichor Energy supplied gasoil and Jet-A1 aviation fuel to Ultimate Oil & Gas between 2022 and 2023. The transactions allegedly resulted in an outstanding debt of about $40 million, prompting legal and arbitration proceedings in multiple jurisdictions.
On February 14, 2025, the Commercial Court of the High Court of Justice of England and Wales delivered judgments in proceedings involving CE Energy DMCC and Bashar, as well as separate proceedings involving Ultimate Oil & Gas DMCC.
The judgments addressed liabilities arising from Bashar’s personal guarantee, including principal sums, interest and costs. The court also declined an application for a stay of execution.
Subsequently, on March 30, 2026, the English High Court granted a worldwide freezing order against Bashar and Ultimate Oil & Gas as part of the ongoing recovery efforts.
