‘Delete the video’ — Canada-based Nigerian doctor cautions Carter Efe over US visa post

A Canada-based Nigerian doctor, Dr. Zo, has urged skit maker and singer Carter Efe to delete a video he made about his United States visa, warning that American immigration officials could interpret it negatively.

In a video shared on social media, Dr. Zo said he deliberately chose not to play Carter Efe’s clip in full because he did not want to worsen the entertainer’s situation.

“I don’t want to play this video for too long because I don’t want Carter to be more in trouble. I think Carter just made a big mistake, and he should delete this video immediately.”

Anticipating criticism for addressing the issue publicly instead of contacting Carter privately, Dr. Zo explained that his message was intended to educate others.

“A lot of people are going to say Dr. Zo. Why didn’t you call Carter and tell him privately.

“I’m saying this here so that a lot of people on my page, a lot of my followers are not going to make the same mistake again.”

According to him, US immigration authorities now pay close attention to applicants’ social media activity, making it risky to post content that could be misunderstood.

“America has changed, immigration rules are more stringent now. They look at your social media, and they are going to see this video, and you know the way they’ll interpret it? This subject is desperate and is unlikely going to come back if he goes to Yankee.”

He also dismissed suggestions that Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, could influence US visa decisions.

“You know, the one that will shock you the most is that Seyi Tinubu has absolutely no power over that little man at the immigration embassy. If he himself talks too much, they can ban him for five years.”

Drawing from his own travel experiences, Dr. Zo said US immigration procedures have become stricter over the years.

“America has changed. I travel to several countries. If I enter America; till today, they still ask me unlikely questions more than what they used to be in the past.”

Despite his criticism, he expressed support for Carter Efe and wished him success, while urging him to remove the video.

“So my advice, my friend. I really wish something works with you, and I really pray because you’re a good guy and you deserve the best. You’ve worked hard enough, but it’s not the right way to go about it.

“I think you’re making a mistake, and these people are going to see this video, and they will interpret it wrongly.

“Carter, you know I love you. I root for you, and I hope it works out well for you, but please, my brother, delete this video.
