The Nigeria Police Force has arraigned three suspects over an alleged $100,000 fraud before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The suspects, George Ali, Anthony Ali and Simon Ali, were charged with criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and obtaining by false pretences.
The case was investigated by operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau, NCB, Abuja, following a complaint over a 2009 transaction involving the purchase and shipment of auto spare parts from the United States.
According to the police, the complainant transferred $100,000 to the suspects for the transaction, but the deal was allegedly not completed as agreed and the money was subsequently diverted.
The suspects were arraigned before Court 6 of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, with the case adjourned until December 3, 2026, for further hearing.
The police said the investigation followed allegations that the funds were not used for the purpose for which they were transferred.
“The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to the diligent investigation of financial crimes and other offences,” the police said.
