'Don't panic' - Ihedioha tells ADC members amid uncertainty over court judgment

The leader of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, has appealed to members of the party not to panic.

Ihedioha, a former governor of Imo State, spoke on Saturday in Owerri at a strategic meeting called to bring the party together, give candidates confidence and show that the ADC is still ready for the elections.

This follows the Abuja Federal High Court ruling which sacked the David Mark-led ADC and voided the party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Ihedioha said he was happy with the way leaders and candidates showed up with confidence, even with all the talk around the judgment delivered by Justice Peter Lifu.

According to him, the ADC is still organised, prepared and focused on what it wants to achieve in 2027.

He asked the ADC members to keep trusting the party leadership, keep doing their political work, and not allow the court matter to break their spirit.

The ex-Imo governor said the main thing now is unity, noting that the party must keep its structures strong and make sure candidates stay close to their people in their constituencies.

He urged them to keep meeting voters, keep building their support base, and keep preparing for the work ahead, instead of sitting down to worry about the judgment.

"Do not panic. Do not entertain any fear. There is no cause for alarm. Remain focused and continue your preparations," Ihedioha said.
