Don’t say things if you don’t have evidence – Rufai slams Peter Obi

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

Arise News anchor, Rufai Oseni, has come heavily on the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his latest comment on the 2023 general elections.

Obi had said there was no evidence to prove his claim that he won the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party.

Reacting to the statement on Arise Television, Rufai said Obi should not make such a claim if he does not have evidence to support it.

“Mr Peter Obi, it is best you do not say things if you do not have the evidence. I must repeat it, because when you say that I won the election, you don’t have the evidence to back it up, then people do not take what you say seriously,” he said.

Rufai also asked if Obi had even checked the election results before making the claim.

“Didn’t you have backend analysis of result by result before you made the claim? Where are all your own data spreadsheets on the backend that assert your claim? Where is your own backend collation that asserts your claim?” he asked.

He added that it was not enough to claim that he won when he could not provide proof, stressing that Obi might have won, but the claim meant nothing without evidence.
