The duo are ardent supporters of Peter […]\nThe post EFCC Releases Obi’s Supporters After Hours Of Questioning Over ‘Naira Abuse’ appeared first on Information Nigeria.","\u003Cp>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released two prominent members of the Obidient Movement — Peter Akah and Oruche Precious — after  hours of grilling.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Akah and Precious, popularly known as Mama Pee, were invited by the EFCC for questioning at the agency’s headquarters on Wednesday.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The duo are ardent supporters of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>In an X post, Chidiebere Mark, an activist popularly known as ‘Justice Crack’, who accompanied them to the anti-graft agency headquarters, said Akah and Precious were released around 12am on Thursday.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Mark said the duo were asked to return to the EFCC headquarters on Thursday at 1pm.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“My dear brother,@Peter4Nigeria , and my sister, @MamaPee__ were invited by the @officialEFCC. I personally accompanied them there on the afternoon of 15th July 2026, at about 1:00 p.m,” Mark wrote.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“It was a very long day. They were eventually released at around 12:00 a.m. and were asked to return the following day, 16th July 2026.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>In a statement on Thursday, Inibehe Effiong, human rights lawyer, said Akah and Precious were invited over allegations of naira abuse.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Effiong said his clients told EFCC investigators that the naira notes being referenced were “props money for entertainment”.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“We arrived the Commission with Peter for Nigeria and Mama Pee on Wednesday and met with the investigators,” Effiong said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“After cooperating with the Commission, our clients were released and we departed the EFCC’s Headquarters. We will be going today in furtherance of the investigation.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“During the interrogation on Wednesday, which took considerable time, the Commission acted professionally.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“Our clients clarified that what was referenced were Props money for entertainment and not Naira notes.
