The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has urged Nigerians to embrace peace, patience, compassion and unity as the country continues to implement reforms aimed at strengthening the economy, improving security and expanding opportunities.
Idris made the call in a statement he personally signed on Tuesday to felicitate with Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud.
The minister said the celebration offered an opportunity for Muslims and Nigerians generally to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his messages of peace, compassion, patience, justice, humility and respect for others.
He said the values were particularly important as Nigeria navigated a period of reform and renewal under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Idris said the Federal Government remained committed to building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria through reforms focused on strengthening the economy, improving security, investing in infrastructure and expanding opportunities in education, skills development and enterprise.
According to him, the progress being made requires patience, sacrifice and a shared commitment from all Nigerians.

Idris urged Nigerians to demonstrate the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in their daily lives by showing kindness, rejecting hatred and division, and promoting peaceful coexistence in their communities.
He also called on citizens to remember the less privileged and extend support to those in need.
“I urge us to embody the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in our daily lives by showing kindness to one another, rejecting hatred and division, and promoting peaceful coexistence in our communities.
“Let us also remember the less privileged and extend a helping hand to those in need,” he said.
The minister prayed that the celebration would strengthen Nigerians’ faith and deepen their commitment to peace and unity.
“May this blessed occasion strengthen our faith, deepen our commitment to peace and unity, and bring blessings to our families and communities.
“May Allah continue to guide our leaders, protect our nation and grant Nigeria lasting peace, security and prosperity,” Idris added.
