The victim, a man repairing a vehicle parked along the road, sustained a suspected gunshot injury and was rushed to a hospital by police operatives. He is reportedly in stable condition.\u003Cbr>The Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. In a separate incident on the same day, joint police and military operatives dispersed suspected NDC members who allegedly engaged in a fight at the entrance to Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, while attempting to receive their governorship candidate.\u003Cbr>According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Enugu State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe on Sunday, preliminary findings indicated that airport authorities had restricted the party members from entering the airport in large numbers, leading to a misunderstanding that escalated into a fight.
