The Premier League returns this weekend following European fixtures in midweek across Europe.
It all kicks off with Chelsea’s trip to an unbeaten Everton side.
There will be several interesting fixtures and we could see surprise results.
1. Man City vs Ipswich: The last time out, Manchester City had to scrape through against Sunderland, who were able to score three times at the Etihad. This game also comes after Enzo Maresca’s men suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 4-2 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. City would be looking to bounce back, but Ipswich arrive in confident mood after seeing off Fulham last weekend.
2. Leeds vs Man Utd: Michael Carrick’s job could literally be on the line when Manchester United travel to Leeds United. It has been a long week for the Red Devils, who drew with 10-man Tottenham before losing to Atletico Madrid with 10 men. Leeds on the other hand are a different force especially at Elland Road, where they will be backed by a vociferous crowd.
3. Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal: The Premier League champions have lost only once so far. And the 3-0 defeat came away at Brighton. Arsenal have a habit of strolling their way into matches. But they could come undone at Nottingham Forest, a team that is in need of three points, after losing at Oliver Glasner’s former club Crystal Palace last week.
4. Brentford vs Liverpool: Andoni Iraola’s unbeaten run across two clubs – Bournemouth and Liverpool – ended in a brutal 3-0 thrashing in the hands of Manchester City. It is a result that no doubt dampened the team’s morale and despite their emphatic Champions League win at LASK, the Reds are not assure of victory at a tough Brentford Stadium.
