EPL: Arsenal legend questions whether Saka deserves to be club’s highest-paid player

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Arsenal legend, David O’Leary has questioned whether Bukayo Saka deserves to be the club’s highest-paid player.

Speaking after Arsenal’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Leeds United at the weekend, O’Leary insisted that the England international was no longer performing at the level he had previously reached.

Saka has been one of Arsenal’s most influential players in recent years and signed a new contract in February, making him the club’s highest-paid player.

“I really like the guy [Saka], but I honestly don’t think he is in the best form,” O’Leary told talkSPORT.

“He is not the player that he was, without a doubt. He is still a top player, but is he the player who got this fantastic new contract at Arsenal to make him one of the top-paid players in the country? I don’t think so at the moment.”

Saka will hope to help Arsenal secure a victory when they face Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday.
