EPL: Carragher exposes Chelsea’s weaknesses despite 3-2 win over Fulham

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has said the current Chelsea team is weak in defence and goalkeeping department.

Carragher was speaking on Sky Sports after the Blues began their Premier League season with a 3-2 win over Fulham on Monday night.

Joao Pedro opened the scoring at Craven Cottage, before Josh King equalized for the hosts.

Chelsea raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer, before Gonzalo Garcia pulled one back.

Carragher said: “There were things to really like. On paper, that front three is sensational. It really is. It looked it in the game.

“I think Joao Pedro is fantastic. Rogers’ first game, what a start.

“But when you think of him, Palmer and Pedro – that’s as good as anything in the Premier League right now.

“But I do think concerns defensively. They conceded a couple of goals and you look at the goalkeeper. They have to sort the goalkeeper issue out because it’s going to come back to haunt them this season, as it did tonight.”
