Chelsea have confirmed that Emi Martinez will now wear the no.1 shirt for the club.
Martinez only joined the Blues last week from Aston Villa.
But the Argentina goalkeeper was immediately given a start against Brighton, with Robert Sanchez left out of the squad.
Sanchez has since joined Como on a season-long loan deal.
His shirt will now be inherited by Martinez, who previously wore the no.26 shirt.
In recognition of the change, and those impacted, Martinez has offered to sign all “Martinez 26” shirts that had been obtained via the official Club Megastore or official Club website.
In order to arrange this, supporters will be required to bring the shirts to Stamford Bridge along with proof of purchase by October 4.
