Chelsea’s new midfielder, Jordan Henderson, could make his debut on Friday evening against his former club, Brentford.
The 36-year-old midfielder left the Gtech Community Stadium after reaching a gentleman’s agreement with the Bees to release him from his contract.
The England international suffered a broken arm while celebrating the Three Lions’ win over Mexico in July, and that has delayed his debut for the Blues.
The former Liverpool captain, however, is close to making his debut for the Blues, as he was spotted at the club’s Cobham training ground this week, according to football.london.
Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso said last week that he was hopeful Henderson would be fit enough to take part in the match against Brentford on Friday evening.
Blues supporters are keen to see a midfield duo that does not consist of Reece James and Romeo Lavia together following their recent performances.
