Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, has disclosed that their objective this season is to win the Premier League title, asserting that the players are optimistic due to their performance under Michael Carrick last season.
In an interview with the club’s media team, Maguire stated that the Manchester United squad is adapting to new tactics and is awaiting instructions from the manager. He is confident that they can perform well this season and contend for the Premier League title.
He said, “If we can maintain that momentum, it would be fantastic. We achieved the highest number of Premier League points since his arrival, so that will be our goal this season. However, we will implement new ideas and different styles of play. The manager has various tactics he wishes to see from us.”
“We performed well in many matches but recognize that we could have done even better. We acknowledge this as players. We have been diligently working on this during pre-season, and I believe you will witness significantly improved performances from us this season,” he remarked via Tribal Football.
Maguire is not the only Manchester United player to express aspirations regarding the Premier League title this season.
Leny Yoro also mentioned that their goal is to strive for success throughout the season.
He told The Sun, “Absolutely. We are Manchester United, so we must adopt that mindset. I am aware of our potential to achieve it, so we must pursue it. The atmosphere is very positive. We work extremely hard, and off the pitch, we share a good vibe and mood.
“Thus, the objective this season is to win every match, to be honest. For the team to excel, for me to deliver strong performances consistently, to secure trophies, and to be at the pinnacle.”
Last season, Manchester United concluded the Premier League campaign in third place, finishing 14 points behind Arsenal.
