EPL: ‘He was top’ – Willian reveals best manager he played under after Mourinho

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Former Chelsea winger, Willian has named Frank Lampard as the best manager he played under at Stamford Bridge aside from Jose Mourinho.

Willian labelled Lampard as a top manager, adding that he gave him freedom to express himself on the pitch.

The Brazilian was signed by Mourinho in 2013 and went on to play under several managers like Antonio Conte, Maurizio Sarri and Lampard.

“Lampard was top. For me, at Chelsea, after Mourinho, he was the best,” Willian said on The Obi One podcast.

“He literally gave me the key [freedom to express myself]. I was the captain in some games.”

Willian spent seven years at Chelsea, scoring 63 goals and providing 58 assists in 339 appearances before he left to join Arsenal in 2020.
