EPL: He’s good, I respect what he did – Thierry Henry defends Arteta

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has defended manager Mikel Arteta over the Gunners’ playing style.

Arteta led Arsenal to win the Premier League last season as the Gunners ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title.

Arteta’s side also came close to winning the UEFA Champions League but lost to Paris Saint-Germain in the final.

Speaking with Jerome Rothen on his podcast ‘Rothen s’enflamme’, Henry said when asked about criticism Arteta faced regarding Arsenal’s tactics (via Metro UK): “It’s not that it annoyed me, it’s that at one point it took Mikel three-and-a-half, four years to be competitive, more or less.

“It’s not easy to create a team, but the leaders believed in him and gave him time, and he has shown he is a good coach. He brought back a title, I respect that.”
