EPL: Liverpool suffer triple injury blow ahead of Man City clash

Daily Post about 4 hours 1 mins read

Liverpool could be without at least first-team players for the Premier League visit of Manchester City this weekend.

The trio of Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Jeremy Jacquet could be unavailable for the Reds’ first game after the international break.

Isak has four goals in his first five league fixtures, but withdrew from international duty with a thigh injury sustained during Sweden’s 2-1 win over Romania.

Gakpo was substituted after only 17 minutes against Serbia, following a strong tackle from Sasa Lukic. The Dutchman eventually asked to be taken off after attempting to carry on.

The duo have since returned to Liverpool for assessment.

Jacquet is also an injury doubt after sat out France’s 4-1 win over Belgium with a “strain to his left hamstring”.

The 21-year-old has started every league game so far this season.
