EPL: Man City set to submit appeal against guilty verdict today

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Manchester City are set to submit their appeal against the verdict handed down by the Premier League.

The former champions have been found guilty of breaching financial rules over a nine-year period.

The Premier League released a statement earlier this week confirming that City had been found guilty of all the charges by an independent commission.

City were given until Friday (today) to appeal the verdict.

The Etihad club strongly denies the charges, and its lawyers argued during the 2024 hearing that the funding had come from the Abu Dhabi government. However, this was rejected by the independent commission.

In its judgment, the commission “concluded that it was an explanation that the club had concocted well after the event in an attempt to conceal the realities of the Disguised Funding Scheme.”
