Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has spoken about how he helped Manuel Pellegrini win the Premier League title in 2012.
Pellegrini was Manchester City boss at the time, while Mourinho was in his second stint with Chelsea.
But it was City who were locked in a thrilling battle for the title with Liverpool that season.
A big turning point in the race came when Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield.
Mourinho will face Pellegrini again this weekend when Madrid play Real Betis and he was asked about their relationship.
He said: “I said dumb words about him in the past, that I regret. And he’ll probably laugh if he hears me say this, I paid it well.
“I gave him the Premier League he won with Manchester City.
“Because if Liverpool had drawn with Chelsea two games from the end, he would have been champion. I paid it well.”
