Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has given a reason manager Michael Carrick benched him against Bournemouth last month.
Recall that Carrick benched Fernandes for the entirety of the match as Bournemouth defeated Man United 3-0 in the Premier League.
This comes after the Portugal international criticised Carrick's tactics against Como in the Champions League.
Speaking on the development after leading Man United to beat AS Roma 3-2 in the Champions League on Tuesday, Fernandes opened up on why Carrick didn't play him against Bournemouth.
"The manager took a decision of making myself be on the bench because I wasn't performing. That's fair," Fernandes told CBS Sports Golazo when asked what happened between him and Carrick.
Fernandes will now hope to lead Man United to victory when they face Aston Villa in their next match this weekend.
