EPL table: Man City go three points clear of Arsenal with 5-3 win over Sunderland

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Manchester City are now clear at the top of the Premier League table, thanks to a thrilling 5-3 victory over Sunderland on Sunday.

Enzo Maresca’s men watched on Saturday as Arsenal were thrashed 3-0 at Brighton.

The result gave City a chance to establish a gap between themselves and the champions.

Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring for City with a clever free-kick, before Brian Brobbey levelled for Sunderland.

Rayan Cherki put the hosts ahead again, but Brobbey tapped into an empty net to bring the scores level.

Antoine Semenyo scored twice to make City’s lead comfortable, before Brobbey completed his hat-trick.

Erling Haaland then made the result certain as they went three points clear of Arsenal.
