Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has insisted that Chelsea have the history and all the elements needed to challenge his team for the Premier League title this season.
According to Arteta, Xabi Alonso’s side have a strong squad and can challenge at the top of the Premier League table.
The Spaniard spoke at his pre-match press conference as Arsenal prepare to host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening.
“I think they have all the elements to be at the very top of the table; there is no doubt about that,” Arteta said.
“Knowing him, knowing this club’s history, the strength of the squad they have, and the fixtures they will face compared to other teams – yes, it’s very, very possible,” he added.
Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League last season.
The Blues have won the Premier League on several occasions.
