Monaco defensive midfielder, Denis Zakaria, has revealed that he encouraged teammate Lamine Camara to reject a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Camara was linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer, before the 22-year-old ended up remaining at Monaco.
Speaking after Monaco’s recent win over Lens, Zakaria revealed that he advised Camara that it is better for him to remain at the French Ligue 1 club and snub a move to Chelsea.
“Chelsea? I told him that it was good but that it is better here [Monaco],” Zakaria was quoted by Metro as saying.
“I know the player and the person that he is; he is very professional,” he said.
Zakaria was a former Chelsea player before he later joined Monaco.
