New Arsenal player, Bruno Guimaraes has explained his decision to chose number 39 jersey at the club.
Guimaraes joined Arsenal from Newcastle United on Saturday amid the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Brazilian midfielder will wear the jersey number 39, a number he holds close to his heart.
Explaining why he picked the number 39 shirt at Arsenal, Guimaraes said via the club’s website, “It means everything to me.
“I have the tattoo of the 39 as well. My father was a taxi driver in Brazil for more than 20 years.”
“The taxi, of course, gave me everything for my family, the place we live, the food, my clothes, everything,” he said.
