EPL: Why I substituted Eze during half time against Nottingham - Arteta

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has explained why he substituted Eberechi Eze during the half time of their 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Eze made his first start of the season, but failed to impress against the resilient hosts.

Arteta then replaced the England midfielder with Noni Madueke, who eventually scored the winner in the 80th minute.

"Because I wanted something else. We needed a different kind of profile in that left-hand side and I'm here to make decisions," Arteta told the media.

"And three days ago he played, he scored a goal, he could have scored two or three against Lille.

"He had some really good moments and today it was different because the game and what the game required was different and we were in time to change it and that's what happens."
