Euromatch NPFL: Kano Pillars, Sporting Lagos play out draw

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Kano Pillars and Sporting Lagos battled to a draw in their Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday seven encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday.

The Sai Masu Gida maintained their unbeaten start to the new season following the result.

Sporting Lagos are now winless in their last three league games.

The visitors stunned the home fans by taking the lead through Valentine Ugwu in first-half stoppage time.

Kano Pillars rallied after the break, with Abdullahi Musa equalising in the 48th minute.

Both sides failed to find the winning goal despite creating several clear-cut chances.

Pillars moved to fifth position on the table following the draw.

Daniel Ogunmodede’s side will travel to Ibadan to face Shooting Stars in their next league game.

Sporting Lagos, who moved to eighth spot, will host Bendel Insurance in their next league fixture.
